Help Make Your Remodel Stress-Free

A lot of people we meet with have delayed a remodel because they are nervous about the stress level they will experience. Here are a few tips to help reduce the stress on you, your family and your contractor!

Research and Collect Ideas for Your Remodel: By having an idea of what you want before you meet with your contractor, you will give them some guidance on your taste, style and aesthetic. Even if we have suggestions, it is helpful for us to get an idea of our client’s ideas before work begins.
Check on Your HOA Requirements: If you are planning a large remodel, it might be a good idea to look into your HOA’s specific requirements, if there are any. It will avoid hassles for everyone later on.
Develop a Realistic Budget: This is a good discussion to have when getting an estimate from a contractor, but its also a good idea to have a sense of what you are able and willing to spend before the remodel begins. That way if what you want is way out of reach, you can change your ideas before work even begins.
Understand Your Project Timeline: This can be one of the most frustrating aspects of a remodel. At Ascent Builders and Basement Partners, we always try to give you a realistic timeline, but it helps us to know the client’s expectations as well. That way everyone is on the same page about when the project will be complete.
