Styles of Basements

If you are considering finishing your basement in the near future, there are a few things you should consider before beginning the design process. The sky is the limit when it comes to finishing your basement, but you want to be sure that you finish the room to fit your family, and still have “curb appeal” when you decide to sell your home.

What Do You Want to Use Your Basement For? This question, while basic, is very important to answer before you even begin your project. Are you attempting to create more space in your home for guests, or are you trying to create a hang-out for your children? Is it meant as a work space for someone in the home, or simply a family space for relaxing? All of these questions will help us narrow down the direction your basement will take.
Do You Frequently Have Out of Town Guests? If you often have family coming to stay with you, it is a good idea to create a separate space where guests can feel comfortable and have some privacy. If this is the case, creating a comfortable bedroom space with a bathroom is a great option. If you have teenagers, finishing your basement this way can also be a good option to give them (and you) some space.
Do You Do A Lot of Entertaining? If you often have company over for dinners or other parties, adding a wet bar, theater area or mini-kitchen to your basement. This will make entertaining more convenient and more fun for everyone!
Do You Exercise Often? If you or any family members exercise on a regular basis, adding an exercise area can also be a great option for your newly finished basement. We can build this accommodation into your design as well.
